Old galvanized pipes are one of those things that slowly make your life worse without you even realizing it. Low water pressure at the shower. A brownish tint coming out of the tap. Joints that have been quietly corroding for decades. By the time most homeowners notice the signs, the pipe is already in rough shape.

That's exactly what we were dealing with on this Chattanooga job. The home needed a full repipe - a new 3/4" main water line run from the street all the way to the house, plus updated plumbing underneath to match. It's not a small job. It means trenching through the yard, pulling out the old line, and making sure the new one is set correctly before everything gets backfilled.

We use blue poly pipe for the main line on jobs like this. It's flexible, durable, and built to last - a serious step up from the galvanized steel that was in the ground before. Once the new main was in place and the under-house plumbing was updated, this home went from struggling with weak, questionable water to having clean, solid pressure throughout.

A whole house repipe is one of those investments that pays off every single day. Better pressure, cleaner water, and no more wondering when the next leak is going to show up. For older Chattanooga homes still running on original galvanized lines, it's not really a matter of if something goes wrong - it's when. Getting ahead of it makes all the difference.
